How to Plan a Garden

There are many hobbies that you can partake in, but some are more fun than others. It just depends on who you are. You may have seen many beautiful gardens that are around. You may have also wanted to grow your own fruits or vegetables. There is a lot of information out there to help you get started, but overall you need to have a plan. This guide will help you figure out what type of garden you want to plant.

First of all ask yourself a few questions. What do you want to grow? Flowers, Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs, or a combination of the three are all common choices. It is a great idea to have a wide variety of plants. Second how big of an area do you have to devote to a gardening space? You will need a larger space if you want many plants, but if you just want a small flower garden you will need a smaller area. Third, is it a very sunny area or an area that has shade most of the day? Some plants grow well in shade, where others need more sun. How much time do you have to devote to the actual gardening practices? If you do not have a lot of time for gardening, you should have a smaller garden, or one that you will only need to take a little time to take care of it. After you have asked these you will be able to plan what kind of garden you will have and what you will need.If you would just like to grow herbs or a few flowers you can either have a small flower bed or you can even grow them in pots. If you want a vegetable and fruit garden you will need a large area to spread out all the plants. The great thing about a big garden is you will be able to provide most of your food for your family with some effort. You may also just want to have flowers in bloom year round, so you will need an area big enough to house flowers that bloom at different times of the year. One great flower that blooms year round is the cyclamen. Once you have explored and found what kind of a garden you will have, you will be able to start planning what plants you can plant in the garden. It doesn't matter what you decide because it is all up to you. Chose something that you can take care of within the time you have for the garden, but also understand that gardening can be both fun and exciting.
