How to Plan Your Next Kid Birthday Party in Charlotte, NC

Danielle Friedl
Who wants a dozen or more kids trampling through their house, hopped up on cake and soda, seemingly hellbent on destruction? Hosting a birthday party can sometimes be a terrifying event when you consider that you're inviting in kids you may not know very well and are given the task of keeping them fed and entertained for a predetermined amount of time. Having your child's next birthday party out your home can be just the ticket - but where should you go and how much will it cost? Charlotte has a variety of locations that host birthday parties, with packages to fit almost any budget.

Chuck E. Cheese, with locations in almost every state, is an old stand by and kid favorite. Charlotte has two locations, in addition to another location in nearby Concord. A one-of-a-kind entertainment experience, Chuck E. Cheese has games and small rides, as well as chances to win tickets to earn prizes. Birthday parties include a long decorated table, pizza for every child guest, tokens for the games, a cake, party favors and a special visit with Chuck E. himself. Prices are based on the number of guests, with special lower prices for weekday events. Time at the birthday table is limited, but guests are allowed to remain in the game arena as long as they like. Emphasizing the safety of our children, no child is allowed to leave the building alone. The adult that brings the child in gets a hand stamp to match that of the child and no other person may leave with the child.

Pump It Up and Monkey Joe's are indoor entertainment zones that hold those great inflatable slides and bouncers. Pump It Up parties are offered in two varieties and are defined by the group size. Kids are given sole access to the inflatable fun zone for a predetermined amount of time and then taken to the party room, where pizza and cake is served. Party favors are also included. The private party room is specially decorated for your child and all cups, napkins, plates and utensils are provided. Prices vary by the size of the party, with weekday parties less expensive then weekends. Monkey Joe's operates similarly, though can be a bit more expensive, as it has a few more options that you can add on. Both locations are loads of fun and great for the whole family.

For a more unique birthday experience you can have Discovery Place host your next event. Each birthday includes a fun scientific program suitable for the ages in your party for up to 18 guests. Children 8 and older can take part in special featured exhibits. There are even Imax movie parties available. Prices vary by the type of party you choose, and by add-ons like pizza and ice cream. For your budding scientist this is truly a wonderful birthday experience.

Birthday parties for kids don't have to be in your house and they don't have to break the bank either. There's nothing easier then having one of these sources throw your next birthday party event. All you have to do is show up and enjoy, while they take care of the entertainment, refreshment and best of all - the clean up! Don't go through all the hassle of throwing your own party - have it done for you!
