How to Plan a Special Valentines on Little to No Money

What Does a Girl Want!

Valentine's day is fast approaching and after the Christmas spending and bills Valentine's day can be another added expense that some of us just can't afford. However, if you have that significant other, you want to be able to share the holiday with them and make it special. So here are some ideas for having a wonderful valentine's day and not spending all your money to do it.

A dinner for two.

Girls love a little romance. The way to a girls heart is romance. A very inexpensive idea is a special dinner just for two and it doesn't have to be at a fancy restaurant, actually it doesn't have to be at a restaurant at all. If you have your own place consider just getting two candles (or pull them out of the cubboard if you've got them stashed away.) Candles are usually available at most dollar stores so for a few dollars you can get two candles and some holders.
Cook a meal, it doesn't have to be anything special it's the thought and effort that we're going for here so anything will do. Now if it's in your budget and you can afford to, go and visit your local dollar store and see what they carry for valentine's day. You would be really surprised that most will have small stuffed bears or a fake rose add a card and there you go, just use your imagination and try not to spend more than two or three dollars; you can even just grab a nice card which is just as wonderful. If you really are on a low budget and the candles are about all you could afford then consider just the dinner, then maybe putting on a love song that means something to the both of you and asking for a dance. Remember words are worth more than any gifts so telling your special someone how much you love them and how much they mean to you is often a wonderful gift, wrapped in love.

Then for dessert have some chocolates or a nice warm cup of hot-chocolate.
So our little romantic dinner for two total cost:
2 Candles and 2 candle holders -4$
Small bear and card or any item with card - 2$
Chocolates or hot chocolate - 3$
Total - 9$ so that's a special valentine's day on under ten dollars.

If you don't have your own place but she does consider making up a picnic basket with all the items you would like to cook as well as the candles, cd of your favorite love song, and the gifts and hull it over to her place a surprise visit like that is just as special.

If you both live at home then consider asking for the use of your home's basement for your special dinner which can easily be set up with a table and two chairs. Remember it's not the things but the thought that really counts.

For those with a little more open budget consider your dinner for two and a movie. Whether it's a movie at home with popcorn or at the theater a traditional "date" is a fun way to spend valentine's day.

Most girls love anything that is thoughtful it doesn't have to be an expensive gold necklace, just the thought of even a special dinner of scrambled eggs and a burger that you cooked, or a slow dance. It's the tender moments that make a valentine's special because guaranteed when you look back on it, it's not going to be the presents or which restaurant you went to but those special moments of dancing to your song right there in the living room, looking into your love's eyes across the dinner table over eggs and a grilled cheese sandwich and the words I love you that you will remember.

So this valentines remember it's not spending a lot of money that matters but just letting that special person in your life know that you love them and that they matter to you.

Happy Valentine's day!
