When planning you party the first thing is to create a time line. Decide when you want to have the party. Give yourself at least one month to get your supplies and decorations, and to get your invites sent out. Plan to send your invitations out at least two weeks ahead of time so that everyone will have a chance to receive them and make plans to attend.
After planning your time line make an invitation list. You can get the addresses as you go, but you will want to have most everyone accounted for so you know how many people you will be expecting while planning the location, and the supplies.
Once you have your date, pick a location. Location can sometimes be everything. Consider how many quests you plan on having. You want to make sure that you will have enough space. You definitaly don't want to have it in your living room if you are expecting thirty guests to show up. You also want it to be local for the sake of your clients as well as it being indoors. If it's to far, they are likely not to come, especially if the weathers ends up being a problem. It's best to pick the location before the theme, that way you will be able to pick your theme according to your location and space.
After you set a date set a theme. Be practical. Take in mind the time of year. You don't want to have a flip flop party in the middle of November when it's to cold to even where shorts. Instead, think of something like a "Its Thanksgiving and I am Giving Thanks to My Loyal Clients" and offer a free "thank you" gift for everyone who attends. There are several themes to be used for every month or every season. If you are one of those reps who like to have at least one party a month, go with holiday themes. They are always a huge success and it will keep your clients returning every month.
Once you have set your date, location, and theme, its time to get down to decorations, and food. If you are having a Hawaiian theme then you will want to decorate accordingly and to make sure that your food choices are also in relation. Add punch and crushed pineapples to your selection. Most reps play it safe with finger foods and small snacks. I would highly recommend that you do the same.
After you have completed every thing up to this point, plan for you prizes, games, displays and anything else you may want to include. Be sure to have samples and plenty of brochures. While you don't need to go buy samples for every shade of lipstick and every pallet of eyeshadow, you will want to have a few of your most popular colors. As for the lotions, buy a few bottles of your favorite and set them up on the display table. Also, be sure to get a few of you're a few bottles of your newest and best selling perfumes. You don't need to buy the full size bottles! The small carry-on sizes located in the Outlet book will do just fine. As for the facial products have one of the Anew moisturizers on hand for everyone to try. Don't waste your money buying the whole line because no one is gonna wanna take off their makeup and wash their face, unless, of coarse your are offering facials at your party.
After you have everything pretty much planned out on date, theme, supplies and how many people will show up, then you are on your way to success. Think of catchy ways to get more clients during your party. Yes, all your girlfriends and current clients are coming but what about their friends? Be sure to add something like "Free gifts for every friend you bring". You can get something really cheap like a set of mini's with a bow, a shower gel, or a nice item out of the Outlet book! That is a definite way to get new clients from your party. After all, the more people, the better your sales, which will make your party a huge success and end up very profitable!
