How to Plan a Successful Diet and Exercise Plan
You Won't Lose 40 Pounds in 2 Days so There is Not Use in Trying
There's No Such Thing As A Miracle Pill
It is very important to know that there is no miracle cure for being over weight but there are several things you can do to help you lose weight and help you keep it off. Due to over exaggerated commercials many people believe that they can run to the local Wal-Mart and buy a 'miracle pill' to help them lose 20 lbs in a week. If this was true there would be no over weight people in America.
Discipline
Successful weight loss comes with discipline, diet and exercise. If you don't discipline yourself you will not be able to successfully perform your diet or exercise routine. Thus, in return you will not see successful weight loss. Many diets fail simply because some people think they can diet for three days and then eat a Big Mac on the fourth day. Its very important that you stick with your diet in order to see results. Disregard any temptations that you may have. If you want it think about how bad you want it? Would you rather eat that cheese burger or trade it for a chicken wrap and the satisfaction of knowing that you are losing weight? The key to a successful diet is sticking with it!
Choosing Your Diet
When starting a new diet it is important that you choose a diet that you can stick with. There are hundreds of fad diets out there that don't work and then there are several that have been proven to work. Do your research and find a diet that is right for you. Make sure that the foods required by the diet are something that you will eat. It makes absolutely no since to start a diet if requires you to eat foods that you know you will never eat. Be sure to consult with your doctor before starting a new diet to insure that any health problems you may have will not be affected by your new diet. Often times your doctor will recommend a diet that has been proven to be healthy and successful.
Exercising
These days, exercise has become absent in many American lives. Not just because they are 'lazy' but because with today's lifestyles it can be hard to squeeze in an hour a day for yourself, not to mention by the end of a long work day you are too tired to do exercise. Instead of waiting till the end of the day when you have no time, try getting up 30 minutes early each morning. Pop in a 30 minute workout DVD and get grinding!
If you hate "exercising" ...then don't! Go out side a play basket ball with your sons or go out and walk your dog! Or how about jumping in the pool and going for a swim? It will seem more like recreation than excising. Either way you need to have some sort of exercise in your weight loss plan. Even if it's only 30 minutes a day or 3 hours a week.
The more you exercise, the better your results. Don't get discourage if you can't bear to run a marathon the first day. It's ok. Start small and then go big!
Success
While you won't see immediate success, you will start to see that the results with in a few weeks. Another thing to remember is, don't worry about how much you weigh the first few weeks of your new diet and exercise plan. Most people don't realize it but when starting a new exercise plan you can actually gain a few pounds from building your muscle mass, which, is a good thing. The more muscle mass you have the more calories you will burn while exercising. Not to mention the fact; that watching the scales and not seeing super-fast results will only make you feel less successful.
The next time you are ready to start and new diet and exercise plan, do your research and consult your doctor on the plan that is right for you. Take baby steps to get to your goal if need be. You won't lose 40 pounds in 2 days so there is not use in trying. Pace yourself and enjoy the results that you get from your new diet and exercise plan!
