How to Play ANY Media Format in Windows Media Player
From Quicktime to Real Media - ANY Format on the Planet
One of the biggest irritations in the world today is the millions of media formats and codecs available. There's Quicktime, Real Media, Windows Media, Flash Video and god knows what else is under development. In such a scenario the average user usually has the following installed -
1. Windows Media Player
2. Quicktime
3. Real Player
4. Some random flv player available on the internet
5. iTunes to play AAC files
Don't you feel that this is way too much clutter for your PC? Wouldn't it be incredibly awesome if Windows Media Player could play all the media formats? Well guess what, its very much possible. All it requires is the download and installation of three setups.
Now take the following steps -
1. Download Quicktime Alternative.
2. Download Real Alternative.
3. Download the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.
Now after downloading them, install them. You may install Media Player Classic that comes bundled with them. While installing remember to select "Use Windows Media Player as default player"
Finish the installation and then take every video/audio file head one without fear. After this Windows Media Player will be able to play any video/audio format including - divx,3gp, qt, rm, ra, rmvb, mov, ogg, mkv, ogm. You name it and this baby can play it.
