How to Play Halloween Texas Holdem Poker

The Halloween Holiday results in children getting a lot of candy. Quite often kids get candy that they don't like. Do not fret, this extra candy gives your child a chance to play poker. Arrange a Halloween Texas Holdem Party for your child and his or her friends. It is very easy to set up, and will give your child along with his or her friends the thrill of gambling without losing any of his or her own cash. Your child might even pick up some extra candy he or she wants, while getting rid of some of their unwanted treats from that night of Trick or Treat on Halloween.

Explain to each of the kids at your Halloween Texas Holdem Poker Party how the wagering with candy in the game works. The first step is for each child to bring a bag of candy he or she would like to use to wager with when playing Halloween Texas Holdem Poker. Direct each child to divide their candy into three different piles. The first pile is the small candy such as hard candy, bubble gum, tootsie rolls, smartees, etc. That candy will be used as the ante for each hand and as the lowest wager in the game of Halloween Texas Holdem Poker. A second pile should be formed consisting of small candy bars, such as the bite size candy bars. These are the medium value bets. The final pile of candy is for the largest value of bets, and these are the full size candy bars.

Start the game of Halloween Holiday Texas Holdem. Direct each of the children to place one piece of candy from the lowest value pile they created into the center of the table. Deal two cards face down to each of the children. Next, deal three cards face up on the table. Let the kids playing the game of Halloween Texas Holdem Poker that they will each form their best five card poker hand using any combination of their own two cards, along with five cards that will be dealt face up on the table.

Ask each child to decide if he or she wants to stay in the hand after seeing his or her two cards and the first three community cards in the center of the table. Any child wishing to remain in the hand must place one piece of candy from the low value pile of candy into the center of the table. Flip over a fourth face up card in the center of the table. Once again give each child a chance to fold, or to remain in the hand. This time though any child wanting to remain in the hand must place one of his or her pieces of candy from their medium value candy pile into the center of the table into the pot for this game of Halloween Texas Holdem Poker. Finally, flip over a fifth face up card in the center of the table. Any child wishing to remain in the game at this point must place either one of his or her full size candy bars into the pot, or three pieces of candy from his or her middle pile of candy.

Determine which player wins the hand based on which child has the best five card poker hand. Only children that have not folded are eligible to win the pile of candy by having the best poker hand. Give the winner a bag to hold his or her candy in. This candy can not be used for future hands of Halloween Texas Holdem Poker, sorting it out into the three piles would take too long. Continue playing for a pre-determined number of hands. This game of Halloween Holiday Texas Holdem is a great way to allow your children and their friends to play poker and win some candy at the same time.

  • Halloween Teaxs Holdem Poker resembles a limit game with the wagering restrictions on candy.
Sorting the candy into the three piles takes the most amount of time. It is best if each child sorts his or her candy before sitting down at the table. To keep the piles organized, plastic bags can be used.
