One thing you have to do is not puff your cheeks when you are playing your instrument. Yes, I do realize that it can be hard since you are new to the instrument, and your mouth isn't used to being used that way, but you seriously have to train yourself to do that! It's a technique that you really need if you want to become a great clarinetist! Now when you are learning how to keep your mouth muscles firm, you will get tired very quickly and it will be exhausting. Don't worry because your muscles will get used to it very quickly, and you will soon have a very strong embouchure.
Now when you are playing high notes, you have to apply more pressure from the side of your embouchure in order to push the air faster and through a smaller hole in the clarinet. You have to practice this because many people aren't able to achieve this on their first try. It's a very difficult task, but you can do it! Another thing is you can bite a bit harder on the tip of your mouthpiece. For some people, this has worked out great for them.
The one thing you truly have to remember is to keep your embouchure firm at all times. You have to train your muscles to be able to last for hours while holding this. The more you practice, the better you will become at things like this, so keep on practicing! Practice is truly the key to getting better for a musician! There is absolutely no other way unless you are some kind of genius, but you will be worldwide famous and a genius by now then!
In conclusion, remember few very important tips. Keep your embouchure strong, and train your mouth muscles to be able to hold it firmly at all times! Bite down slightly harder on the mouth piece if you have to, and make the side muscles of your mouth more firm to reach those high notes. Have fun playing your clarinet and good luck becoming an amazing player!
