How to Play a Tank in Left 4 Dead

Playing the tank in the game Left 4 Dead is very exciting, but it takes concentration and teamwork in order to bring down the opposing survivor team. Learn how to play a tank by mastering and understanding these few strategies that I will be mentioning to you.

The tank is a rare spawn in the game Left 4 Dead. It is a completely random spawn in which neither the infected nor the survivors will know if it's going to come or not. The tank has a massive amount of health. It's primary attack is hitting or punching people while its secondary attack is being able to hurdle rocks at survivors that are far away.

When the tank spawn notification comes, the first thing you should do is tell everyone and make sure that everyone is spawned. Talk to your teammate about what you are going to do. You can't take too much time because you must attack a survivor within a certain period of time or else you will lose control of that tank. Once you lose control, your teammate will first take control of it next but the AI will eventually take control of it.

The tank has to definitely watch out for Molotov due to the fact that if it's on fire, it's going to take 4 times the damage as well as slowly dying away. You want to avoid this as much as possible and jump in the water if you can to cool down and become normal again. Use the rocks when you are at a distance from the other survivors. Another great use of the tank is that it can easily separate the survivors. This means that if you separate the survivor, you can have hunters pounce the lone survivor in order to easily incapacitate or kill him.

Also keep in mind that the tank can easily hit pillars or cars at the survivors. This will instant incapacitate them. It is easy to incapacitate all 4 survivors using 1 car if the other team isn't paying attention or if you can lead them into a trap. Also know that you should never let the survivors in green health kite you especially when they have tier 2 weapons because of the fact that they can easily bring you down. If you can notice these things and make sure you don't do them, you should be fine playing the tank. A good team will be able to wipe the survivors using the tank easily without much problem.
