How to Pluck Your Eyebrows

Eyebrows can really frame the face beautifully, when groomed properly they can open up the eye and make the whole face look great. But so many people over pluck or under pluck their eyebrows; this can leave the face lacking definition or make the eyes look hooded and small.

Start by wetting a towel or cloth with warm water and gently rubbing it over your eyebrows, the heat will help open up the pores and follicles making it easier and less painful to remove the hair.

Step 1: Hold a pencil against the side of your nose, observe where it meets the brow, your eyebrow should start here.

Step 2: Observe the outside of your iris, this is the best place for the peak of the arch of your brow.

Step 3: Hold the tweezers in one hand and pull your skin taut with the other, pluck single hairs, one at a time. Do not try and pluck several at once as you will pluck too many and you may end up with very strange looking eyebrows.

Step 4: Pluck away the stray straggly hairs first, then pluck from the brow. Your brow should slope gently upwards, it should not be a sharp drastic change.

Face shape:

Round face: Try to have a gentle arch in your eyebrows, this will help to slim your face and make it appear a little longer.

Square face: Soft is the keyword here, a soft arch and not too heavy, a spiked arch will make your face appear harsh.

Oval face: Can really get away with any kinds of eyebrows, make sure you don't over pluck them as you want your face and eyes to have some definition.

Long face: Don't have an arch that is too high, this will emphasise the length of your face. Keep them fairly flat and well defined, this will draw attention to your eyes.
