What you will need:
One egg
Toilet tissue or Kleenex (one ply seems to work best)
Small whisk or fork
Small bowl
Yep...that's all you need! Let's get started.
Step one:
You need to get the egg and separate the egg white from the yoke. A lot of people crack the egg and drop the white and yoke into the bowl together and then remove the yoke from the white, but this tends to break the yoke and it can turn into a mess.
I would recommend cracking the egg into two, and shifting the egg yoke back and forth and allow the egg white to drip from the shell into a the bowl until all the white is separated from the yoke, then dispose of the yoke.
Step two:
Using a small whisk or fork, you are going to stir up the egg white in a small bowl. Stir the egg white for approx. two minutes at a quick speed. You will know when it is ready because the egg white will have formed foaming bubbles.
Step three:
Get the toilet paper ready! Using your fingers, apply the egg white to a small portion of your face (I generally apply it to one cheek at a time, then apply it to the chin, nose, and forehead) and then apply a piece of tissue paper (one ply preferably) over top of the egg white. Lightly press down on the tissue paper so it becomes wetted down by the egg white. Continue doing this to all of your face.
Step four:
Now here comes the fun part...or maybe not; waiting. Do not touch your face until everything is dry because you will just continue to add to the drying time. You will need to leave the strips/mask on your face for about 30 minutes. Now if you make the tissue too wet with egg white, you will have a tough time getting it to dry (it will take a LOT longer).
Step five:
After you have allowed at least 30 minutes for your face to dry, go ahead and touch the mask and see it is has hardened. You will also experience tightness on your face and find it hard to move your mouth (try not to move your mouth too much while wearing the mask because it can tear).
Once the mask is hard, slowly peel the hard tissue paper from your face. Grab a corner and slowly lift it from your skin and continue pulling it off. Try to start at the top of the strip and pull downward. This will pull more dirt from your pores.
Step six:
After all the mask has been removed from your skin, apply an astringent to your face and allow it to dry. Then you are complete!
