How to Be Positive and Live a Happier Life

Nancy
Think positive. Easier said than done, right? Well, not if you know the right things to think about. We all have worries in life and sometimes it can seem to take over. That is not healthy and will not help your situation. You have to stay positive and focused if you want to have a happy life. There are different ways to help you accomplish this task.

Exercise

Exercise is so important in a lot of ways. It helps keep us healthy and fit, but it also keeps us energized and focused. I can walk into the gym feeling really terrible after a long day at work and I force myself on that treadmill. After my 40 minute brisk walk I feel on top of the world. I really feel great and rejuvenated after a good workout. Its really amazing how exercising can make you feel so good inside. Any kind of exercise will work for your mood. Dancing, walking, running, swimming, etc. Just get your heart rate up and feel the relief inside.

Taking a Time Out

No, you're not being punished. Everyone needs a time out once in a while. Time to forget everything else and just "be". Find a quiet place away from co-workers or your children and just sit and meditate for a few minutes. Sometimes that's all it takes is a few minutes of uninterrupted quiet to get you in a better frame of mind.

Read a Book

Reading is a great way to escape your everyday worries. Get yourself engrossed in a great novel or learn about something new by reading a book on it. Libraries have millions of books sitting there just waiting for you to come and pick them out. It is free to take out library books so no added stress about finances. They let you keep them for about 2 weeks now so no added stress about returning them late. Another way to get your hands on different books is to do a book swap with friends and family. Once you read a book, trade with someone else and you each have a new book to read.

Talk About It

Talk to someone about how your feeling. Letting those negative feelings out can really give you relief. Don't keep everything inside until you feel like you are going to explode. Its not healthy to keep things inside, especially if you have family and friends you can turn to for support. Chances are they will be thrilled to have you to talk to as well.

These are just a few suggestions that have worked for me and still are working for me. Sometimes each day can be a battle but we can win if we stay focused and do what's good for us. Keep exercising, reading and talking and you will be just fine.
