Some of the new gurus are calling this the Law of Attraction, and are treating it as if it is a new discovery. This is not new; it is the way the universe was set up in the beginning so that we humans could be happy.
So for example; if you are constantly worried about not having enough money, you will get more life experiences of not having enough money. What you think about the most will manifest into your life as the universe responds to your desire by bringing into your life what you have told it to.
This is how the universe works; what you think about the most is what the universe believes you desire and in order to make you happy brings your desire into your reality. So continuing our example; focusing on opportunities to make money will get you further than worrying about the lack of it.
"But what about immediate needs" you ask. This is where you have to take action. For example you are hungry and sitting on your couch. If you do not do anything you will remain in your hungry on the couch state. You can concentrate, desire, and will all you want, but the food is not going to manifest into your mouth. You will have to take some action to satisfy your hunger.
Then there are the challenges and tribulations of life. These events occur as seemingly random happenings; however they come into your life to help you grow. People have a tendency to become complacent when things are easy, so the universe will cause things to happen so that you will have to grow. Here is the truth; if you face the challenge and work through it you will walk away from it not only a better person, but also confident in the fact that you can face any challenge and succeed.
Lastly you can change your thoughts just by simple concentration. You can catch yourself thinking negative, angry, lack of, poor, defeating thoughts and replace them with power thoughts that work to further your goals in life. So if you find yourself thinking that there isn't enough money, you say to your self "AH HA" like you just busted your child sneaking into the cookie jar, and then say "garbage" or "cancel" effectively disabling that thought. Then quickly replace it with something else that makes you happy, like the thought of driving your Jag through the country side.
So what have we discovered today? If you can master your mind, you can have and be and do anything you want.
