  • Deep breathing, especially exhaling, is a powerful feeling of catharsis and renewal. When a crisis passes, a sigh of relief makes for a smoother transition.
  • Sink into a low chair, or pillows, and savor the moment. When the conscious mind is at rest, it comes up with the best ideas.
  • If you accept that you can't meditate, you paradoxically reach a higher state than you intended. The awareness of your limitations will help you realize that life is wonderful as an ordinary person.
  • While asleep, our bodies become power stations producing intelligence and alertness. An urge to nap in the early afternoon is a warning that we are low on common sense and good judgement. Sleep restores the ability to function at our best, great stress relief.
  • Most of our weight is a fluid as dense as seawater. Bathing puts us in an aquatic playland, a restorative effect on our senses.
  • In a fraction of a second, the aroma and flavor of food pleasantly stimulates the brain and your thoughts.
  • Yawning is a stimulating total-body exercise, a reaction to weariness. If unable to, curl and wiggle your toes.
  • To others, your glances, head movements and facial expressions include you in the conversation, without speaking a word.
  • Waiting gives you a breather before facing the future, but enjoying the opportunity requires patience. It's a chance to enjoy some free time.
  • Don't dismiss procrastination. Delaying what seems urgent with some trivial activity, is an opportunity to do things or visit places long overdue
