You can begin to condition yourself early developing habits that are conducive with becoming a Doctor. Habits such as organization, hard work and self-discipline will help you gain a definite psychological advantage by allowing you to experience and explore medicine ahead of time.

First, you need to research and choose courses that are required by colleges or universities. It also helps to choose electives that will challenge and enlarge your mental ability and broaden your intellectual horizons. This includes subjects such as writing and composition. Typically students need to take courses such as chemistry, biology, physics, labs, english, foreign language, mathematics, algebra, geometry, social studies, sociology, political science and economics.

Social and communication skills are especially important when wanting to become a Physician because you will be working closely with people from all types of backgrounds. This includes knowing how to communicate with people while under extreme amounts of stress and pressure.

Club members take part in activities such as hospital and clinic visits. Members may also make rounds with the doctors or staff and attend medical meetings observing the Doctor's daily routine. Other key words that are good to search for are "Local Medical Societies" or "Local Medical Societies Your City and State" also the American Medical Association is a good organization that can give guidance to prospective medics. You may also be able to obtain help from teachers at school. In club meetings members review topics such as how to finance education, career guidance and other appropriate subjects.
