Start putting things away for next summers yard sale or garage sale. Many stores will be having a lot of their items on clearance or going on clearance. These clearance items will be marked down from $5 to $3 and then as low as $1 to .50 cents, this is the time to purchase these items. You will be able to put a better price tag on your Garage sale or yard sale items if they are new and, or, never worn as in clothing. The good thing is most department stores will be putting a lot of their summer clothing on sale. Buying a piece of new clothing for $1 to .50 cents, you can put a price tag on these new items and mark them new or just leave the tags on them, for a $3, or $2 profit. May not seem like much, but this amount will add up fast if you put away enough for your next garage sale or yard sale.

Everyone loves a bargain on holiday items after Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, these decorations will be marked down after these holidays way below retail value. These are other items that will sell in a garage sale or yard sale. Many people who shop after holidays for these items get there to late and they miss out. These mark downs on the holiday decorations go fast.

You may also take some of these odds an ends decorations and make your own unique Holiday decorations. Many women who go to garage sales and yard sales look for homemade crafts, something different.

Get ready for Wal-Marts fall clearance items. They will be marking down their $20 and $30 winter coats and jackets for as low as $3 and $5. Be patient they will start their mark downs at a higher clearance price, but in time they will reach as low as $3 and $5. You can add $2 to your price and make $2 off every item you sell. This may not sound like a lot of money, but if you have 50 items to sell at your garage sale or yard sale, your profit for one day will be $100. You may have as many as 100 items to sell by then at your garage sale or yard sale and that will bring you a profit of $200, in one to two days work.

Most states have what we call a junk day, this is where people can put all kinds of things that they no longer want at their road side for pick-up. A lot of these items there may be nothing wrong with. Some of the furniture that some people throw out just need cleaned up or maybe just a little sanding or painting. These items are free so you don't have to charge a lot for them, a good way to make money. Just be smart, keep your items at a low cost and you will make money.
