Items that you will need to buy include: a litter box, scooper, litter, cat or kitten food, food and water dish, toys, a soft brush, collar, and a scratching post. The items need to be bought for many reasons. If you want to save your furniture from being shredded a scratching post or mat with catnip will do the trick. You need a collar to begin with and then when you decide on a name you should by an ID tag, especially if the kitten or cat will be let outside. Toys are an easy way to entertain your kittens. Even though your pet might sleep many hours a day, they still enjoy playing. If you brush your pet, they will not only take pleasure in it, but you will benefit them by reducing shedding and hairballs. If you want, you may also purchase a bed for your cat to sleep in, but with my experience, they are likely to not use it. You should scoop the litter box at least once a day to prevent them from going elsewhere.
The health of your cat is very important, so you will need to get the appropriate vaccination at your local veterinarian. Also, you should consider spaying or neutering your cat or kitten, for great reasons for doing so please click here. You may also talk to your veterinarian about worming because your pet might be infected with several different types of worms.
Owning a kitten or cat is an enjoyable experience. Felines are very loving, but are individuals. Owning a cat is a great reliever of stress and anxiety. Cats truly are excellent pets to own. I, myself, own 2 cats: Crackerjack and Tex. My cats are both unique in personality and looks. Tex is more playful, possibly because he is a kitten, but is still quite lovable. Crackerjack is more lovable, and likes to keep to himself, maybe because he is the older of the two cats.
