How to Make Your Presentation Sell

How to Give a Presentation that Gets You Sales as a Result!

L J Pearce
Presentations are as successful as you want them to be, and as the saying goes, the more work and effort you put in, the better results you can expect to achieve in return.

Some keys things you need to consider and remember when producing and planning your presentation are: Make it interesting - Power points are informative and useful as are bar charts, graphs and diagrams, just don't overuse t hem. Try to make your presentation informative, fun and interesting - all at the same time!

Direction and structure - Make sure you know what direction your presentation is heading towards and where it is going. Make sure that it is structured so that it is easy to follow, understand and take in.

TOP TIP: Pace yourself and pace your presentation. Don't rush, take your time and speak in a clear and concise manner at all times - Remember you are being judged and watched like a hawk - So don't slip up.

Body language - When giving a presentation make sure that your body language does the talking as well as your mouth. Positive and strong body language will help get the audience on you side - Remember that nobody wants to watch or listen to someone who appears to be sluggish, lacklustre, or just totally disinterested.

Voice, Speech and tone - When talking and presenting a presentation to your audience make sure you speak slowly, clearly and in a tone that is none patronising.

Attitude - Don't have or present with an I know it all attitude. Nobody likes a know it all. YET at the same time you have to have a confident presence, aura and attitude about you and around you if you want people to listen to you, take note and take and interest in your presentation.

TOP TIP: Remember you audience and get them involved. Just because you are giving a presentation it doesn't mean you cant get your audience involved. Be it questions and answers or even group tasks, give your audience and listeners something to do, involve them and make them feel part of your presentation.

So as you can see, creating a presentation and presenting it is more than just producing bar charts, diagrams and power points, its all about you, how you act, speak, talk and present yourself that will determine how successful your presentation is.
