How President Obama Plans to Push His Abortion Agenda Without Your Even Noticing

When he ran for President of the United States, Barack Obama promised to have the most open administration in history. He also pledged to sign the Freedom of Choice Act, one of the most radical abortion bills ever proposed in the United States Congress, a bill which will disallow any and all state restrictions on abortion. President Barack Obama, and a liberal pro-abortion Congress, now see that the American public will not allow the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA) and instead are trying to pass different parts of the evil proposal item by item and hide them in other spending bills. If he can't do it openly in the light of day, our new President will hide his radical plans and push them in the dark of the night.

Many online sources document his plans, but one of the best is HumanEvents.com, as the website pointed out how leaders in Planned Parenthood are turning from passing FOCA as a main conern to taxpayer funding of abortions and forcing medical professionals to perform them. President Obama is going along.

Actually why should President Obama govern differently on this item than he has on any other? The so-called "stimulus" bill was worked out behind closed doors. Candidate Obama discussed the possibility of letting Americans have the opportunity to study important pieces of legislation before signing them. He surely did not do that with the "stimulus" bill. He hid in the stimulus bill his radical plan to end Welfare Reform, and accomplished his mission with most Americans not even knowing what he had done. Now he's trying to hide his radical abortion agenda. Most Americans do know he is pro-abortion. How many know that he supports measures that even many in the abortion industry do not?

President Obama and his pro-abortion friends in Congress knew they had to change their tactics. They knew the American public would not stand for the Freedom of Choice Act. A Gallup Poll showed that only 35% of Americans supported his plan to overturn President Bush's Mexico City Policy, in effect forcing Americans to pay for abortions in other countries. President Obama was a co-sponsor of the Freedom of Choice Act. He said signing it would be his first action. Most legislators say now, however, that such a bill could not pass.

No problem for Mr. Abortion, Obama. There are other ways to get Americans to pay for abortions. Let's not forget forcing medical doctors and nurses to perform them-even if it violates their consciences. Just today he overturned President Bush's ban on federal funding for embryonic stem cells, even though many medical professionals acknowledge that other types of stem cells can be used to treat disease.

President Obama also plans to give more money (hundreds of millions a year) to the largest abortion provider-Planned Parenthood. He wants Americans to fund the United Nations Population Fund. President Bush stopped funding of that because China forces its citizens to have abortions and to be sterilized. Obviously President Obama could care less. One of the worst things of all is plan to force medical doctors to perform abortions, even if their conscience is opposed. (He is at least allowing public discussion on that one for a month. If you are opposed, write to the White House and tell him he is wrong.)

It is a shame that he and his liberal friends in Congress are planning on doing these things bit by bit. Many experts believe such measures, and many more, will go into spending bills one item at a time. Nobody can oppose them, without opposing a whole spending bill.
