The flu is a highly contagious virus which affects the respiratory system. Every year the flue virus mutates and spreads. The flu can be serious for small children and elderly people. The main symptoms associated with the flu are headache, fever, fatigue, stuffy nose, and muscle aches. Some people who have the flu may also experience vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. The effects can be severe and may require medical attention. The flu can cause severe dehydration so be sure to drink plenty of liquids if you happen to get the flu.
For most people the flu will last an average of 5 days, but some people may have the flu for more than 2 weeks. If this happens a person can develop a more serious condition. If the flu is not going away, pneumonia can set in. See your doctor if you are not getting better. Consider using hand sanitizer during flu season, especially if you work in a service industry where you are exposed to a lot of people on a daily basis. For instance if you work as a checker at a grocery store you might want to consider using hand sanitizer after handling money or helping people.
Prevention/Solution
Getting a flu shot doesn't necessarily mean that you won't get the flu because there are so many different strains of the virus. The shot provides only minimal or no protection at all. The vaccine may also contain heavy metals like aluminum and mercury which carry additional risks.
Take extra vitamin C and garlic during flu season. Eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Get plenty of sleep. Your immune system will be much stronger if you are well rested. Drink plenty of water and stay away from people who seem sick. If family members are sick suggest that they quarantine themselves. Many people get the flu because of strict work policies. Due to these policies many people often come to work sick and spread the virus around. If you can, stay home to avoid spreading the flu to other people.
Take Echinacea or other immune boosting herbs during flu season.
