How A Principal Should Properly Control And Reform A High School or College

One of the major problems with education in the United States is the fact that so many people are quitting high school and are forced to either get their GED diploma or fall behind in the job market. This is because of the fact that the high school which many students attend is a very scary place because of the groups of students with self segregate and form gangs that intimidate other students. This creates an atmosphere, which prevents these students from being able to learn or wanting to learn. These disruptions eventually result in a very high dropout rate for the school district and a very low graduating rate. However, this is a problem, which can easily be fixed if the principal within the school changes the experience of these students by altering the atmosphere, and provides a feeling of security to future students. This can be done with a few simple techniques:

Install metal detectors because the number one fear of any student who feels as if they are in danger is the thought of having a weapon used against them. If you install these machines then students will know that there are no weapons in the weapons in the building, which can be used to harm them.

Hire more security staff to wall all around the school, this will reduce the amount of violence in the school and also reduce the amount of students that cut classes. This will lead to better grades and a higher pass/ fail ratio. You can install cameras in every area of the school so that students know they are being watched and any crime that occurs will be caught on camera. This will also create the perception that the school is safe which will create better students.

You will need to rule with an iron fist if you are going to regain control of your school. This means that you will need to call the police if there are students who are fighting. Once an arrest occurs you will see that violence comes to a stop. Also, you should impose a three strikes rule, which will remove students from day school and place them into night school once they have been send into your office for the third time. If you let the bad kids know that bad behavior will not be tolerated and the other children will feel more secure while in school.
