The process of printing only a selected area of an Excel worksheet is very simple, yet not many know how to do it. It's imperative to know about this, in case that you don't need to print out a whole workbook; which is all of the worksheets that you may have open.
1. Go to Start, All Programs, and find Microsoft Excel to open it.
Note: Sometimes Microsoft Excel will not be at this location; if this is the case, open up the Search window by going to Start and looking there.
2. Once the program is open, type up or open up the document of which you want to print a piece of.
Note: To open a document that you already have created go to Files, Open, and then browse around your computer for the document you want to open, click on it, and then hit Open.
3. Drag to highlight the section of cells that you want to print.
Note: If you do not know how to highlight a section grab your mouse, hold it on the top left corner cell or on the right bottom cell, click on it and then stay clicking on it while you drag the mouse across the selection you want to highlight.
4. Once you have the cells selected, click on File and go down to Print and click it.
5. Look for a section that says Print What and make sure Selection is clicked.
6. Now you can click Preview to see what your print out will look like before actually printing it.
7. Click Print if you're done or cancel if you want to highlight other things as well.
Tip: Selecting Active Sheet/s will print the whole work sheet that is currently active.
Now that you know how to print a certain section from a worksheet on Excel, go ahead and try it out.
Note: If you want to learn how to print a whole workbook follow steps 1, 2, 4, and 5. In step five replace "Selection" with "Workbook." Printing a whole workbook means that you are going to print every worksheet that you have worked on. You should always hit Preview before printing in order to avoid misprints.
