Keep it Clean:
Make sure your Family knows that this is not a storage room, and everyone can throw all of their stuff in here. That is what could happen the majority of the time. Your Family will come and visit you when they get home from work or school. They will start to take off backpacks, shoes and etc. Make sure you clean up after yourself. No one wants to sift through a huge pile of trash just to find what he or she is looking for.
Quiet Time:
Make sure your Family knows that when you are in the office it should quiet. No kids are allowed in unless there happens to be an emergency, or even something that needs your attention right away.
Lay Down Ground Rules: (and stick to them!)
Think of some rules that you need to stay in place that will benefit you and getting your work done. This can be a wide variety of many things. Some examples are:
- Pick up all your trash/clutter
- No one is allowed in between these times
- The computer is off limits from 9 to 5
- You are only available during emergencies
Stick to a Schedule:
Do not get off of your schedule unless absolutely necessary. If there is a reason that limits your production try to get back on track as soon as possible.

Post a CommentYou are so right. And this reminds me -- I need to clean my office.
Really good advice! (Now if I only could follow it all... :) ) Good job!
These are really good tips. Thanks for sharing them.

Great tips. I have the hardest the time with the clean part. I dust and vacuum and that all that, but I don't file things. I stack everything on my desk. It's alphabetical, but that's as far as my filing goes. I have been meaning to get a filing cabinet, but I'm afraid it may not work well for me meaning that I would probably neglect it lol I'm going to print this out.
