- Step 1
- As with most drinks, the QUALITY of the ingredients is of utmost importance and will make the difference between a mediocre and a stalwart drink that will get you laid. Therefore, THE STRAWBERRIES: When you buy the strawberries, pick the plumpest, juiciest, biggest 2 you can find. Buy them and use them immediately. Strawberries do not continue to ripen after being picked. And yes, cut the green part off. Chill them in the freezer for an hour and put em in the blender.
- Step 2
STRAWBERRY SYRUP: While you're chilling the 2 best berries, make the strawberry syrup. Take the rest of the berries (should be between 15-20), and simmer them with natural maple syrup over medium heat. As a rule: 1 cup maple syrup for every 5 berries. You'll be simmering for about 10 minutes. After the syrup has taken on a distinct strawberry flavor, cool it, strain into a Tupperware, and stick in in the fridge until you're ready to use it.
- Step 3
THE LIME: Should be fresh. Cut it into 4 parts and take the skin off. You will use one of these parts in the blender. Go ahead; put it in!
- Step 4
THE POWDERED SUGAR: Organic if possible. 1 barspoon full.
- Step 5
THE RUM: Appleton. 2 oz.
- Step 6
THE ICE: I really want ice frozen from filtered water, but you can use the gas station s^#% I guess. It's best if you crush it by punching it with your fist. I'm kidding. 2 handfuls per drink.
- Step 7
When all ingredients are ready, and your ladies are ready, place all ingredients in a blender or Magic Bullet and whir whir whir. Serve in a cocktail glass.
- Step 8
Watch as the ladies of distinction marvel at your concoction, and you will know that it's because you didn't skimp on any ingredient. And if a lady doesn't know the difference, well, she's not good enough for you. Happy trails!
