Basic Wedding Cake Recipe
1 1/2 cups butter,at room temp
2 1/2 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 tsp almond extract
1/4 tsp.salt
1 cup milk
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.Spray pans with pan spray or grease and flour pans. In mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in vanilla and almond extracts. Mix in flour with baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture alternating with milk, starting with flour first. Pour into prepared pans. Bake until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Loosen sides and remove. Cool completely before decorating. Makes 7 1/2 cups batter which will give you either 2- 8" round cakes or 1-6" and 1-9" round cake. To make more than 2 layers just increase the recipe.

Post a Commenti am trying this recipe as we speak. the milk should be more like 2 cups instead of one to get a cake consistency.
Sorry I forgot to mention 4 cups of flour and 4 tbsp of baking powder.
