How to Program Your DishNet Remote to Work with Any Accessory Including TV, Blue Ray DVD, HD DVD, VCR, DVR and More!
Having all or most of your electronic components operate from one remote has its advantages. Learning how to operate 5-7 remotes can be mind warping at best, and very time consuming. Also having that many remotes around is hard to keep from getting lost as well, especially if you have small kids or remote-thieving-animals who love to play hide and seek. Also, when even one of the remotes comes up missing, it can throw a monkey wrench into the whole interactive experience. Not to mention the time and energy wasted, crawling around on your hands and knees, twisting your back into chiropractic-seeking contortions trying to find it behind or under the couch. All those remotes require usually differing sizes of batteries, as well, resulting in going to the store to find AAA batteries, when all you can find at the house are AA batteries.
Thank goodness for Dish Network, who have come to the rescue with easy to follow instructions on how to program your remote to work with all or most of your electronic components. Follow these steps and you can't go wrong.
On your DishNet remote: First we'll cover programming for a TV. Press and hold the TV button at the top near the Power button. Hold until all lights are lit-up. Press the Power button. Next press the Channel-Up button until the TV itself turns off. Finally, press the '#' key. Repeat for each component using coinciding buttons at top of remote.
Well, thats it. Happy remoting, just don't hurt anyone vying for control.

what do i do to program my tv to work on dish net remote
Sure I did, for what ever component you're programming "Repeat for each component using coinciding buttons at top of remote"
in your case press the DVD button, then follow direction.
You forgot to say how to program the remote for a DVD player.
I would say to use Dishnet tech support website here: http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/techportal/index.shtml
so It was a very good article, but ther is nothing in there about what to do if that doesn't work. DOes that mean that it just won't work with my tv, or is my remote defective.. ???
One remote is better than four remotes.
