Jitu
In one of my earlier article I discussed about how to promote your AC content in Orkut. Orkut is one of the world's best public networks to share your common interests. You can use Orkut in various ways to build your own social and business network. Many people are using Orkut to build their business network, especially whose business is related to public communication. In this article we will discuss several few other options on how to use Orkut to promote your AC content.

Create Community to Promote Your AC Content - People around the world using Orkut to build their own network. The most useful ways to build your network is to create a community with a topic and then try to spread the word of that community among every other users of Orkut. People will join the community when they find the match with their interests. You can create a community on a specific topic of your interest and try to do a little marketing for that community. Once you build the community and get some members for that community you can start using the forum to promote your AC content. There are several content producers who always write on specific subject area or they have the expertise on specific area. In that case, creating a community in Orkut on that subject is very helpful.

Eventually I found a community in Orkut on Associated Content. The members of this community are the AC content producers. There are several topics in that forum where you have a great chance to promote your AC content. The link of that Orkut community is http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=33314923. If you have a user login for Orkut you can visit this community and share your thoughts & ideas. If you don't have such user login for Orkut you can create the same from the Orkut.com home page. You may also find several other communities in Orkut which are related to content writing or web content writing. For your reference I am going to provide you few such community names here. You can also use those communities to promote your AC content. Here is the list of such communities - 'Content Writers', 'Web Content Writing', 'Content Writer's Forum', 'Freelance Content Writers', 'Creative Content' etc.

Promote Your AC Content Using RSS Feed - Very recently Orkut integrated Google picture web application Picasa, users' Blog site Blogspot and RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed for any Orkut user. For any user when logged in Orkut one link called 'Edit Feed' is visible just below the profile on left hand side of the web page. By this feed link you can actually feed any web content feed to your Orkut profile. As Picasa and Blogger.com are Google product or Google affiliated product these two things will come automatically under your RSS feed in Orkut. If you use your Google account login as the Orkut login, Orkut will automatically search for your Picasa web album and your blog at Blogger.com. If you already have Picasa account and blog account you just need to click on 'ADD' button to add those RSS feeds to your Orkut profile. The third option will be to add any RSS feed to your Orkut profile. You might have already aware that Associated Content also provides RSS feed for your content.

If you don't have the idea of Feed, per web definition of feed in Associated Content's RSS feed page "A feed, also known as RSS feed, XML feed, syndicated content, or web feed, is frequently updated content published by a website. It is usually used for news and blog websites, but can also be used for distributing other types of digital content, including pictures, audio or video. Feeds can also be used to deliver audio content (usually in MP3 format) which you can listen to on your computer or MP3 player."

You will able to find this RSS feed URL at your CP page. On your CP page the first image after your CP name is the clout index and the second image is RSS feed URL of your AC content. Once you click on that image you will be redirected to your RSS feed page of your AC content. Now, copy that URL in order to feed that in Orkut under your profile. The RSS feed URL will be something like this - http://www.associatedcontent.com/rss/user_65363.xml. This is the example of my RSS feed URL at associatedcontent.com.

Now, come to Orkut and click on 'Edit Feed' link. You will find a similar RSS Feed image there and there will be a text box followed by the word 'Url' in order to provide your RSS feed URL (site address). Paste your RSS feed URL as you copied from Associated Content site and click on button 'Add'. Below this place where you are adding RSS feed URL you will be able to find your AC content RSS feed link under 'My Feed'. Click on that link to view your all latest contents published in Associated Content. Go back to your Orkut home page and look for the AC RSS feed just above the 'Edit Feed' button on left hand side of the web page. This RSS feed link on your Orkut profile will be displayed with a small logo of Associated Content. Anyone visit your Orkut profile page will be able to view this RSS feed link. Each time your content gets published in AC, your Orkut AC RSS feed will update itself to show the latest content from you at AC. This is a great way to promote your AC content to the users of Orkut.
