Tips: Do not take measurements during you monthly cycle. Bloating and water retention can result in an inaccurate measurement. Remove as much clothing as possible before taking the measurements. If is often advisable to leave your bra on during measuring to get a more accurate measurement of bust size.
Step One: Use a flexible tape measure and wrap it around your torso directly beneath your breasts. The tape should be parallel with the floor. Exhale and check the measurement. Round any fractions of an inch up to the higher number. If this measurement is an even number add 4 inches. If this measurement is an odd number, add 5 inches.
Step Two: Measure along the fullest point of your breasts. Stand with you shoulders back and stomach in. Keep the tape measure parallel with the ground and place it around the fullest portion of your breasts. Please note, this may or may not be in line with your nipples. Round any fractions of an inch to the next highest number.
Step Three: Subtract the measurement from Step one from the measurement in Step two. This number will be used to calculate your cup size. Each inch of difference between the two measurements is equivalent to one cup size.
Cup Sizes (USA): AA, A, B, C, D, DD, E, F
Calculate your bra size: Your bra size will be a combination of the measurement taken in step one and the cup size calculation from step three. For example, if your measure in step one was 34 inches, and your cup size was a C, then your bra size is a 34C.
It is a misconception that all D cups are the same, regardless of other measurements. A C cup on a 32C will be smaller than a C cup on a 36C bra. It is also important to note different brands fit differently. You may need to try on several different brands and styles to find the perfect fit for your body type/shape.
