How to Protect Your Assets When Your Mate Cheats

Kay Pierre
One of my co-worker told me that she had lost everything because of her husband's cheating. He emptied her account and left with his mistress. She spent several months in the hospital because she had a nervous breakdown. I think that she could have prevented this from happening. You should learn how to protect your assets when your mate is not looking for your best interest.

You should always keep an eye open for unexpected things between you and your mate. The course of a relationship sometimes goes wrong and you need to plan and prepare for it. Let's start with money. You should have your own checking and saving account so that you can save for yourself without your mate ever touching it. This is so that if he or she leaves you, all of your money is not gone either. You can still have a marriage account, but always have a separate account for yourself.

It is not wise to let your mate have access to all of your money with an ATM card. How would you feel if you work hard and your mate takes your money and spend it on his mistress while you tried to save it for years. You would want to bite off your tongue don't you? This is not a joke, it is a well known things in marriage or relationship. Don't be naïve. It can happen to you.

How about a prenuptial agreement, you can still write one now. You can do it at home and both of you sign it; you don't need to go to a lawyer.
Writing an agreement is easy just write down all the assets you have that you want to remain yours in case of dissolution and have your mate sign it and keep a copy of it somewhere safe or give it to your family member or attorney.

You should audit his spending record sometimes to see if he's spending for extra person. You should watch to see if he does spend over the limit and spending on vacations and dinners. It could alert you that he's dating someone else. These kinds of stories do happen but women can help themselves by learning how to protect their assets.
