So how do you still work within a site's requirement for an account number? The solution I have found is a prepaid debit card.
The All Access Visa re-loadable card gives you a personalized card as well as a checking account number and routing number that you can use to have deposits made directly into your account. You can use these numbers anywhere that a site asks you for a bank account number and it works just like a checking account, but without the paper checks. Paypal will also make direct transfers to the account if you like.
The other alternative is to set up a separate checking account specifically for use with sites that require it, but it's easier to keep track of the prepaid debit card than to keep track of another regular checking account and deal with the bank. Also, All Access sends alerts to your cell phone any time there are any transactions in the account. This is a great service for keeping a close eye on your account. If anyone does remove money from your account, you will receive a text within 30 seconds. You can also send a short text to check your balance at any time.
All Access has a few account options, depending on how you use the card. One option has no monthly fees, but a service fee is charged when you use the card. This is great if you don't have many transactions. Another option is a low monthly charge, similar to a bank's checking fee, and no charge for transactions. All Access also offers bill pay at no additional charge, direct deposit, and a savings account that earns up to 5% interest. It only takes about 48 hours for funds transfered from Paypal to appear in your All Access account.
The card includes the Visa logo, and works just like any Visa credit or debit card anywhere. Use it for online purchases, travel reservations, in-store purchases and at ATMs.
You can keep limited funds in the account so that if anyone does try to access the account the amount of damage they could do is limited. The same applies if someone tried to use the card to make a purchase. This is a great way to keep your main checking account, and your money safe. You can conduct all of your business online, including providing your checking account information to sites that request it without having to worry about your account being drained.
Sign up is free, and if you use referral code 1840599934 at www.mynetspendcard.com All Access will deposit $5 in your new account to get you started.
I highly recommend using All Access to conduct transactions online and protect your bank account.
