The my space community is a great thing but the one thing you have to look out for is your children on my space and who they are talking to. It isn't a bad thing to allow your child or teenager on the my space website especially if they are on there just talking to their friends from school or going to their favorite bands website. The number one thing that you should do from the beginning on my space is when your child or teenager is making their My Space website you should make them put their website to private. This is the number one way to ensure their protection online because it means that in order for some one to contact them they have to allow them to do so.

Another way to protect your child is watch who they are talking to. Make sure that they really know who the person is because there are a lot of sexual predators on line who are looking for gullible children so they can do bad things to them. You should ensure their safety by looking up known sexual predators and offenders on the my space website to ensure that they are not talking to one.

You should also try and be in a room near by so you can keep tabs on what your child or teenager is doing on my space. My space is not a bad website but you need to keep an eye on what they are doing.

Make sure that when they make their my space webpage if it is not set to private that they do not post any pictures of them selves on the website by doing this people can find them in a crowd if they agree to meet them some where which hopefully that will never happen. Also make sure that they do not give out personal information in their profile and to people that they do not know, Some personal information that your child or teenager should not give out on the My space website is their full name, date of birth , where they live, their social security number and the school they go to. You can also protect your child or teenager on my space by if they get contacted by some one who is harassing them you can report it to the my space website.

By giving out the foregoing information on my space or on any other thing online your child or teenager is putting their life endanger along with their families lives.
