First thing you want to do to protect your vehicle from being stolen is make sure that you do have your registration and proof of insurance in your glove box but do not place the title to your vehicle in your car. If you are worried about having proof that it is your vehicle other than your insurance and registration don't be. If you get pulled over for any reason the cops will run all that information and it will tell them whose name the title for the vehicle is in. Do not keep your title in your vehicle it would be to easy for a thief to take it and change it quickly making your stolen vehicle into their vehicle.
The next way to protect your car from being stolen is you can write down your VIN number which can be found on your dashboard in the front left side of your vehicle. Your VIN number at times can even be found inside your door when the door is open. The VIN number is a fourteen long code with letters and numbers. This is your vehicles Identity sort of like a social security number is to humans. Only that vehicle will have that special code.
To prevent your car from being stolen you can also do some of the following always make sure before you leave your vehicle that your windows are rolled up. By keeping them rolled down that is easy access to your vehicle. You must also prevent your vehicle from being stolen by never leaving your keys in your car. If you leave your keys to your vehicle some one can easily pry your door open or if the door is unlocked make entry into your vehicle and take off with your vehicle.
For a recap of the foregoing you should always keep your windows rolled up before exiting your vehicle. You should also always take your keys out of your vehicle and never keep the title to your vehicle in side your vehicle even if it is inside the glove box. Some one stealing your car can easily gain access to that and gain access to being put on the title.
