The Facts for Great Customer Service

Kid-Romeo
There are many retail stores out there today that are great and others not so great. I know many people have gone to the store and could never find anyone to help them, which is a definite negative. It is a major retail policy that customers feel happy and experience the best time when shopping at your store. This would happen if the store has excellent customer service, this is always the first priority of any business. Most stores do not have any customer service which makes shopping there a total hell; they just do not understand the meaning of the term. In this article I will give some tips on how to provide the best customer service possible to make your store a great shopping environment.

The first step in providing the best customer service is making the customer happy. The first thing you do when you see a customer is ask them, "what may I help you with today", most sale clerks ask, "how", first which is a definite no. When you ask a customer, "how", they can usually say I don't know or you tell me, you have to act as you're the customer. When you ask, "what", you're automatically focusing on the product there looking for so basically all they can say is the name of the product or what they need to find. You have to realize the customer is the most important person at your job other than your boss, so if the customer is not happy you may not have a job. When you have found out what the customer wants to purchase you should walk with them to the item. Most people may point out the item which is a bad thing to do, taking to the customer to the item is a great form of customer service. Then when the customer has the product and is ready to check out take them to the register. If you are the cashier as well make sure you smile, ask if they found everything ok, if there's anything else they need, thank them and tell them to please come again. If you make the customer feel wanted they will always return to your store.

The next step in providing the best customer service is making sure you understand the customer. When you see a customer especially a recurring one you should learn to understand there wants, needs, and any special traits. Take mental notes of your experience with that customer so they will always come to you because you are so helpful and remember them. This will help you move up in your company because your manager will see you respect and care about your customers. You should always give the customer your full attention and let them know they are your number one priority. When you do these steps your customers will not only choose you every time for help, but they will let their friends and family know, your manager and other co-workers. This will also give you a raise, better position and help your company grow and expand.

The last step in providing the best customer service is helping an upset customer. When a customer needs to return something or you forgot a receipt, or there not satisfied with the product, or maybe they purchased the wrong item, what\ever the reason just remain calm. The first step to helping an angry customer is to stay calm and cool tell them you will do everything you can to help and if not you will call a manager. Sometimes even the manager cannot solve the problem so you have to be quick and effective as well to help provide good customer service. If you help solve a problem like this then the customer and manager will see that you are a great employee who puts customer service first, this will help you gain much respect from your customers and staff. Another way to show good customer service is during long lines to always make sure you tell the waiting customers you will be with them shortly, so they know you see them there and care. This will help you, your company and other employees to become better and make your business become one of the best.

These are just some tips to help you provide great customer service for you business. One of the main things to do is always smile; this makes the customer feel good when you have a big smile. If you try these tips I know your company will grow and rise in sales and customer satisfaction.

I speak from experience when I say that this is a great article. I served as a Quality Assurance Technician for many years in a call center, and graded the agents on their interaction with the customer. It is important to maintain a good working relationship with all customers.
