Facebook Fan pages are a way for your customers or fans to connect with you or your business. In a recent study by social media marketing company Syncapse, Facebook fans spend an average of $71.84 more per year on brands that they have "liked" on their Facebook profile, over someone who has not. Facebook fans are also considered to be more loyal to those brands, and more likely to recommend the brand to their friends, something that they are in a way doing by just clicking the "Like" button.A Facebook fan page can allow you to share information about upcoming sales, or events with all of your fans at once. Fan pages can also allow you to share photos with customers on Facebook, and invite those customers to "Events" that will show up on their Facebook calender and newsfeed for not only tem to see, but their friends as well.

If your business does not have a Facebook fan page currently set up, creating a page to connect with your customers can be done fairly easily.

1. While logged into Facebook visit the Facebook Fan Page creation page. If you do not have a personal Facebook account you will need to create one.

2. Select what type of page you are creating from the available options such as local business, brand, prodct or organization, or artist.

3. Create a name for the page. Select something that is representative of your group or business. This is how fans will find you, so you want to make it something they might potentially search for you as. The name of your business is always a good choice.

4. Click the box indicating you are an authorized representative of the organization and then click "Create Official Page" in order to create the Fan Page.

Once you've created your page customize it by adding information about your business such as hours, or specialties. You will also want to upload a photo representative of your business.

Start inviting personal friends you might have on Facebook.to become a fan of your business. if you have a company website or newsletter, adverise you new Facebook page on them as well in order to increase your fan base.

A good Facebok following won't come overnight, but will sloely build over time. Update your Facebook as often as possible, and offer incentive on occasion that make your customers happy they have become a fan.
