How to Publish a Slideshow on Associated Content

A. Ford
Before starting your slideshow submission it is helpful to get your photos organized for your slideshow. You can go back into the slideshow and make changes later, but to save a lot of time and effort I suggest creating a specific folder with the photos you want to put in your slideshow.

1. Once your photo folder is ready, you get to the page to start working on your slideshow through the publish button in the upper right hand corner of your account page. Then you click on the images button of your create content page. The button will look grey but you can still click it. The next step is to click select for slideshow.

2. The next page you come to will require that you click for rights and payment - you don't have choices but you still need to click.

3. Then you will need to give your slide show a title. You can give your slide show a subtitle if you would like but it is not required.

4. Next you will insert a descriptive overview for your slideshow and you will choose the best categories for your slideshow content. After that you will type in your search tags for your slideshow topic.

5. Click Save and Next.

6. On the next page you will be asked to read and agree to the image submission guidelines. You won't be able to upload images without clicking that you have done this.

7. Now it is time to actually upload each image from the folder you created earlier. This may take a little bit of time as you have to do each photo separately.

8. After you have all of the photos uploaded for your slideshow, you then drag and drop your images from the image gallery on the left of the screen into the slideshow on the right side of the screen.

9. Click Save and Next.

10. The next page you will come to gives you an opportunity to write something about each image. On this page you will also need to give the credit and copyright information. I suggest you read the guidelines for each of these so you will not be confused in any way as to whose name belongs in each space.

11. Click Save and Preview.

12. During the preview it would be a good idea to check the order of your photos in the slideshow you can go back and make changes before you publish if you need. I was able to change the order and all of the captions and titles stayed with the photo so I did not have to retype them again.

13. When you are satisfied with your slide show you click publish and your slideshow will be live on the web.

Here are a few tips to promote your slideshow.

1. Email a link to friends and family.
2. Include a link on any promotional papers or cards you distribute.
3. Include a picture or two on your personal website with a link saying see more.
