I carry the normal things a woman in their 20's carries. I have my wallet, keys, sunglasses, cell phone, a tiny note pad, two pens, a small brush, antibacterial hand cleaner, and a small makeup bag with Chap Stick, lip gloss, a mirror, and sometimes a compact with eye shadow, blush, powder, and any feminine products I may require. As I sit and read my list, I do see where that can seem like a lot, but as a woman knows, we all have those things we need through out the day, and if we don't have them we feel naked. So as I sat on my living room floor one evening switching bags once again in search of some organization, it happened. The Purse Brite commercial came on the television. For the low price of 19.99 plus 5.99 shipping and handling a person in my position could have organization at their finger tips. On the television it looked huge, and it seemed to be just what I needed. I don't normally order things I see on television, but I ordered KaBoom from the makers of OxiClean and that worked out so I figured why not take a chance?
I went on Ebay, and found the same item for $4.99 with free shipping, and even better, it was new in the box. I snapped it up on a buy it now program and waited for my messy life to suddenly become organized. Three days later it came; I tore into the package like a child at Christmas and set to work only to be extremely disappointed by my new in the box product. The Purse Brite was bent to be put into the package and after laying it flat and trying to bend it so the pockets on it were facing the inside of the bag and not the walls, it didn't stay bent the right way.
I stuck it in my purse anyway figuring that the bag would keep it from flipping back the wrong way. It worked to a certain extent, but the Purse Brite created an unsightly bulge in the handbag making it awkward to carry. There were spaces marked with sticky labels that marked the best spots for certain items. I thought this was great, again, I was miss led. The slot marked for pen did not fit a standard sized skinny pen, the slot was too small. The same goes for Chap Stick and lip gloss pockets. The wallet pocket did not fit even a money clip with very little money clipped to it. The was a slot marked ID/Credit Card which was the only slot that actually held what it said it would. The Purse Brite did deliver in two parts of its promise, it did create more room in the center of my handbag, and the light did work to make it easier to see.
I had to upgrade my handbag to one the size of a laptop for it to fit inside properly, and it did not hold things as advertised. That led to me having to buy things I normally take with me in a small travel size. Now that I had this new bag and all the extra space in the middle, I felt as if I could carry more things in my purse. Suddenly I had bottles of water, novels, puzzle books, a game for my son to play. It was getting ridiculous, and I began to loath my Purse Brite for all the extra trouble it had put me through, but there was that part of me that loved the extra shopping.
I do have to thank the makers of Purse Brite for making me realize that I'm just not meant to carry so much stuff with me. After a week of hauling around my huge new bag I had terrible back aches that just would not go away. I went back to carrying around my normal bag with all my junk scattered at the bottom, and gave up my pocket sized items I had to buy to fit inside the Purse Brite, and my back aches went away. About a month after purchasing and giving up the item we went on a vacation. I wanted to be organized so I slapped the Purse Brite back into my bag and my back aches came back after loading up on everything I thought I may need while traveling. After we returned from the trip I made a doctors appointment and found out that I had scoliosis, a curve of the spine.
It wasn't noticeable because it corrected itself so I stood straight. Basically, I had a huge "S" shaped curve in my back. It turns out that it was aggravated by the extra weight brought on by the new bag and tons of junk that I toted thanks to all the extra space in the bag. The doctor said that there was so much pressure on my back that my nerves were not responding like they should so I should have been feeling pain, but never had. If they didn't find it when they did it was very possible that my spine may have collapsed. So I would like to thank the makers of Purse Brite for the terrible product that saved my way of life as I know it.
