How to Put a Background on Your MySpace Page
Make Your MySpace Page POP with a Great Background...Here's How!
First, you need to find a site that offers free MySpace layouts for backgrounds. I will provide you with the site that I like to use, but after you play around a bit, feel free to surf other websites offering layouts for your MySpace and play around!
The important thing to remember is to have fun with it and to make sure that your page is easily readable through your background. I hate nothing more than visiting someone's page and you cannot read what they have written on their page without it giving me a headache from eye strain.
First, open up your MySpace and click on "Edit Profile". Once you have that open and ready, open a new Internet window by holding down Ctrl+N at the same time. Once that window is open, go up to the address bar and type in the website www.myspacepimper.com.
When the site opens, you can browse through hundreds of different possibly layouts for your background. Search carefully and find one that you'll love! For this tutorial, I'm going to go to the "Scenic" layouts and use "The Beach", which is the first one under the scenic layouts. Click on the layout you have chosen. That layout's page will open up and you will see "Preview" under the picture. I recommend that everyone previews their choice so that they know exactly what the page is going to look like!
Once you are satisfied with your choice, below the "Preview" button, there is a long, gibberish code in a text box. Click on the text in the box and the whole thing will highlight. Then you can either right click and select "Copy" or you can press Ctrl+C to copy the code.
When the code has been copied, you then go back to your MySpace page where your "Edit Profile" is waiting for you. In the "About Me" section of your profile, go to the end of the section and place your cursor so that it is at the very end of what you have typed in there about yourself. Then you will either right click and select "Paste" or hit Ctrl+V to paste in the code.
After the code has been pasted into the "About Me" section, you need to go up to the top of the "Edit Profile" page and click "Save Changes". Sometimes MySpace will ask you to type in some security code to make profile changes, sometimes it doesn't.
Once the profile has been saved, you can click on "View My Profile" and check out your new background layout!
Congratulations! You did it! Now check out my other article on how to add a slide show to your page! Just click on resource link on this page!
