1. Always shop at a familiar store. You know where most items are located. You will also know what you need and at the cost. This helps you save time.
2. Start at the bottom and work up. Your shoe color will dictate what you buy next. It is easier to match shoes with clothes instead of clothes with shoes. Stick to the basics. No open toes. Kitten heels for women. Men want something that looks a bit on the relaxation side.
3. Next, ladies pick a basic outfit color(Camel, Navy, Grey, Black, Beige). Men color of trousers should match shoe color. An off tint will work. Tan/ Brown, Gray/Black. Make sure the trousers are the right size. Too small or too large look sloppy. Outfits for ladies should be less revealing.
4. Tops should always be on the conservative side for both men and women. Men should try to stick with a plain color. Avoid white if at all possible. White shirts means you need a jacket. Colored shirts can get you by.
Ladies need to select a top that will match their skirt or trousers. White blouses will work, because unlike men, ladies aren't expected to wear a jacket. White will go with any bottom color, except white for women.
5. Ties for men are important. I have always thought, that the tie is what makes the man. The tie needs to show a slight match with both the trousers and the shirt. A bandanna or scarf that is narrow can quickly add to a ladies outfit impression.
6. Socks and leggings. Once again these should match the lower part of the wardrobe. Off colors will not work. You do not want to bring attention to your socks or leggings.
7. Grooming. Outfits are not the only important part of a good impression. An individual must look neat. a quick stop at a beauty salon or barber shop can do wonders for a person. Consider this. Have you ever seen a well dressed person that was not groomed well? They leave a negative impression you never forget.
8. Finally, practice when you have some free time. A dress rehearsal for dress can do a person wonders.
So the next time you have an important meeting and you need a quick outfit, use these suggestions for a successful dress appearance.

Post a CommentGood advice! The right outfit makes all the difference.
Great ways to dress for success. :-)
This brings back some memories. Many years ago, I was doing PR and in charge of all aspects of a conference held in St. Louis. My most memorable job at the conference was having to go out and buy underwear for an African participant whose luggage had been lost. He wore flowing robes and had one change of outer clothing with him, but that was it.
Wonderful work!
Excellent advice...... :o)
