Hold the hanger so that the open side of the hook is facing inwards towards the rod in the closet.
Place the hook over the top of the clothing rod in the closet and allow it to hang on the rod. Placing it open end facing in will allow for easier removal of the hangers.
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 until all of the hangers are in place. To remove a hanger for use, grasp the front end of the hanger and lift the hook up until it clears the hanger and pull it towards you.
Unbutton or unzip clothing before placing it on the hanger. Verify the edges of the hanger touch the inside edges of the clothing shoulders. Re-button or zip the clothing and use your hand to smooth out wrinkles. Replace the hanger in the closet with the hook opening facing inward.
Place one end of the hanger into one side of the neck opening of shirts that don't open fully in the middle. Place the other end carefully into the other side of the neck opening being careful not to stretch the neck opening. Smooth out the fabric and place in the closet.
Fold pants on the crease and carefully lay them over the center bar on the hanger. Smooth out the fabric and place in the closet. For skirts and other clothing that doesn't neatly fit on hangers use hangers with small plastic clips to clip the tops of these items onto the hanger.
Layer similar clothes on top of a hanger. For example you may be able to place two shirts on one hanger by putting one over the other. Be careful not to place too many clothing items on a single hanger as this can cause the hanger to break or pull down the closet rod.
To save even more space consider hanging items such as pants on the lower portion of the hanger and using the top part of the hanger for items such as shirts. For example you might put dress pants on the bottom of a hanger with the matching shirt and jacket on the top part of the hanger.
Do not use wire hangers as these can cause rips, pulls, and bumps in the fabrics. Use plastic or wooden hangers.

Post a CommentSomething so simple, but even some females do not know how to do this!
You should have directed this toward all the males of the species!
Most of this is painfully obvious, but since society's common sense has taken a turn for the worse over the last few years it would not be surprising if this actually awakens a few minds out there. It really is sound advice. :-D
