Don't buy unnecessary paper products. Use cloth napkins, mop the floor and spills with dishcloths and rags that you can wash, write your shopping list on the back of your junk-mail envelopes or even use your cell phone as your notepad.

Stop drinking water in bottles; almost 40% of bottled water comes out of the tap anyway, and most of the time these companies just filter it. Use a filter to get rid of chemicals and anything that may be harmless to your body and buy own carry-out bottle to bring water where ever you go.

Get only the amount of food you will consume. On average, Americans throw out 25% of the food they purchase at the grocery store. Pay attention to what you trash most of the time so you have a better idea of what you really should shop, and make sure to eat what you buy before it spoils.

If you have a cellular phone, having a land line is more of an expense. Getting rid of your home number will save you a couple hundred dollars per year on average.

Put your gym membership on hold or just cancel it. Use natural resources to stay fit, like jogging or stair-climbing if it's available. Get creative, go on hikes, runs, use the gym in your apartment complex, etc... All this is free and work perfectly.

If you don't have your own weights use empty canned goods or old jugs of milk or bottles of detergent. Fill them with water and they all will make good hand weights.

Forget about wasting your money on fast food, it's an expense and it isn't healthy. If you don't have a clue of what to eat at home use the internet like recipes.com and you'll be surprised to discover the chef in you.

Stop paying for an overpriced cable service. In this day and age television shows are available online, and if a computer screen doesn't do the job for you, you can hook your computer to your TV and still get the ultimate viewing experience.

Put your financial situation in check. If you subscribe to a cable service throughout the year just for one or two shows that are considered premium, it's better to wait and get the entire season on DVD or BluRay when it comes out.

Set aside the urge to waste money on new clothes and jeans: If you are like most people in America, you most likely have about eight pairs of pants and more than a few shirts, and still you only wear two pairs of jeans anyway.

Don't fall for the marked-up jewelry. Wait and be patient because jewelry devalues and what costs $300 today will cost you $100 bucks months from when it comes out. Don't follow your urges because your ego needs a boost!

Avoid using vitamins that you really don't need, or supplements that aren't even proven to give any benefits. Ask your nutritionist or Doctor what you really need and take herbs and seasonings like Cayenne Pepper that are known to really promote a better health.
