If you have purchase the SanDisk Sansa View mp3 player, then you've likely discovered that adding movies, particularly your DVDs, is harder than you thought it would be. If that is the case, this tutorial is for you. Below is instructions on how to add your DVDs to your Sansa View mp3 player.

Items Needed:

PC
Sansa View
DVD Decrypter
Fairuse Wizard
SUPER

Step 1: You'll need to download three programs - Fairuse Wizard, DVD Decrypter and SUPER. All three are free, although Fairuse Wizard has a commercial version that works faster than the free version. Install them both to your machine.

In addition, you will need at least 10GB of free hard drive space, as well as at least 1GB of RAM to keep your machine from locking up with additional use during conversion.

Step 2: Take a DVD that you own and insert it into your DVD player. Open DVD Decrypter and at the top, in Options, choose Writer > ISO. Now, click the green arrow button at the bottom of the program to covert the video to an ISO file.

Step 3: Once you have an ISO file finished, open Fairuse Wizard and load the ISO file into it. Follow the wizard and then wait for it to load. Once it gives you the option, lower the video file size to something around 400MB and choose a common video file, such as AVI. Keep the audio quality higher or it will sound bad. When ready, click 'convert'. This may take longer than an hour.

Step 4: Once you have the new video file, you're almost done. Start SUPER. If you're running Vista, right click on the icon and choose Run as Administrator.

Load your video file into the program and choose MP4 as the video to convert to, XviD as the codec, and AAC Main for audio. Set the video bitrate at 600kbps, the resolution to 240 x 160, and the frame rate to 29.97. The aspect ration will depend on whether or not your video is widescreen. Choose 4:3 for regular video and 16:9 for widescreen video.

Set the audio bitrate to 128 or 256, depending on how good you want the audio to be.

Click Encode. It will take a while, so be patient.
Step 5: Plug your player in and copy the video onto. Unplug you player and wait for it to restart. Now, navigate to the video and make sure it works correctly. If it doesn't, make sure you followed all the settings exactly.
