How to Make Quick and Easy Chili in a Slow Cooker
Quick and Easy Chili Recipe Makes a Delicious Meal for a Super Bowl Party or a Family Meal
This chili is made in a slow cooker, but it doesn't take as long as a typical slow cooked recipe. It can be ready in as little as 1 ½ hours, plus about 15 minutes of prep time.
Quick and Easy Slow Cooked Chili Recipe
(Makes approximately 8 servings)
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 - 15 oz. can dark or light red kidney beans (drained)
1 - 15 oz. can pinto beans (drained)
2 - 15 oz. cans petite diced tomatoes
1 - 28 oz. can tomato puree
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped onions (depending on your taste)
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Brown ground beef. Drain off grease.
In slow cooker, combine browned ground beef with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on high setting for
1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. That's it! Quick and easy!
Chili can be made the night before and refrigerated. The flavors blend nicely and it actually tastes better the next day. Heat on the stove or in slow cooker when it's time for the party or dinner.
Variations:
If you need to stretch the recipe to serve more people, add 1 to 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni during the last 1/2 hour of cooking. Also, add 1/4 to 1/2 cup water depending on how much macaroni is added.
If you want a healthy, meatless version, omit the ground beef. Add 2 cups cooked brown rice (see note below) or 2 cups whole wheat cooked elbow macaroni during the last 1/2 hour of cooking.
