Here is how you can quickly and cheaply clean a shower head.

Use white vinegar to clean a shower head. You can use white vinegar to clean a clogged shower head. What you can do is fill a plastic bag with about a cup of vinegar and tape it up to the spout of the shower head. You can also use a rubber band to attach the plastic bag of vinegar to the shower head. Let is sit for about an hour. And calcium and lime build up will right off. If it doesn't, leave it on there a little while longer.

Use cleaner to clean a shower head. You can put about eight ounces of cleaning chemical into a plastic bag and immerse your shower head in it. You can tie the bag to the shower head. You could also remove the shower head with a wrench and place it in a bucket filled with cleaner.

Use denture tablets to clean a shower head. Place two denture tablets in a plastic bag with a cup of water. Place the bag over the shower head with tape or rubber bands. The denture tablets will create a fizzy solution that will clean the shower head.

You can also remove the shower head from the shower pipe if you'd like to immerse the shower head in a bucket of one of the above solutions. Take a wrench or pliers and remove the shower head. Use a towel between the shower head and the wrench or pliers so that the tool doesn't scratch the shower head.

After you've used either of these methods, put the shower head on the shower pipe. Let the water run to push the vinegar, cleaner or denture tablet solution out of the shower head pores. If you have trouble clearing out the calcium and lime deposits, take a bobby pin or paper clip and poke at the head pores.

After you've cleaned your shower head, you should notice an increase in water pressure. You'll save a few dollars by cleaning the shower head yourself and not buying a new one.
