How to Quickly and Easily Wrap Boxed Gifts

Yes, You Can!

JUNEANN REED
Christmas is coming - time is getting short.

Follow these hints to wrap your gifts quickly and neatly. But yes, it still takes some time. Sorry.

1. Try to have a large work area. This can be a table, counter or even the floor.

2. Place all your gifts inside the boxes and use sticker notes to ID - or use paper and tape.

3. Line up [or count] how many boxes you have of each size. [Example you have 6 shirt-sized boxes.]

4. Too much paper will not wrap neatly, but not enough and you must patch or start over. So, measure and use just enough paper to go around gift box, fold back for straight edge and then overlap.

5. Cut paper so that box ends will just be covered plus an extra 1/2" to fold for a neat edge. [After you know first wrap fits box, cut enough to wrap all boxes and stack.]

6. Wrap paper around box. You may want to tape 1st edge to anchor. Then bring paper around and fold edge under. Tape. [Keep paper tight as you wrap for great finished look.]

7. Push sides of paper edges toward box. Pull up bottom of paper and then fold top tightly down [fold edge under] and tape.

8. Take fingers and go around edge of box top to give paper a fitted look.

8. Attach bow and tag.

9. Or, you may want to have large rolls of ribbon. Again, measure amount needed for number of boxes. Tie in a bow.

I've found this process works much faster than doing each gift at a time.

[Used ribbon can be rolled and saved for several years and will look like new]

  • Wrap all same sizes boxes at a time.
  • Cut paper to fit boxes with little overlap.
  • Press top edges of wrapped box with fingers to assure neat look.
Yes, anyone can wrap a neat gift. Cut the right size paper and fold tightly. Add a bow and tag and you're set!

I prefer the bags if at all possible as I'm not a good giftbox wrapper!

This is so hard for me to do.
Wrapping presents is my downfall. My gifts look like a two year wrapped them. Doing crafts is just as bad.
