Ebay
When searching for vintage t shirts on Ebay, you need to know exactly what your size is. You will need to know your measurements. Take a shirt that you have that fits properly and is the right length. Obtain the measurement from across the shirt, from armpit to armpit. Next measure the length from the armpit to the end of the shirt. Knowing your true body measurements will prevent ordering the wrong size. Make it a practice to completely ignore sizing labels in vintage clothes. The only way for an accurate fit is to measure.
People
There may be several great vintage tees just collecting dust all around you. Ask your mature family members, friends, and neighbors if they have any cool clothes you can have. Let them know you would be happy to take them off their hands. A few minutes of phone calls, could result in finding several rare vintage t shirts. The excess clothes can always be donated to charity or sold to another lover of vintage fashions on Ebay or Craigslist.
Thrift Stores
Many thrift stores that are run by small organizations such as churches or local missions do not presort their clothes. Meaning they do not take out and sell for profit online any of their merchandise. Everything they receive actually gets put out on their sales floor. Look for tidy organized shops. Many times great shirts are in the children's and men's sections of the store. Always bring your tape measure with you, to know if a shirt will fit properly without having to try it on. Larger thrift stores such as Salvation Army or Goodwill may not view these shirts as being valuable. Always ask what items are on sale or special before starting to browse. Save unorganized shops for days where you want to spend at least an hour sorting through clothes. Choose organized stores to save time.
Searching for vintage t shirts does not have to be time consuming or difficult. Knowing what size you wear, and what fabrics you prefer can easily cut your search time down in half. Use these times saving tips when looking for rare vintage t shirts.
