Ooch! Oh-Oh, you have just experienced an unpleasant feeling in the front of your leg and you can no longer continue your daily run, jog, or activity you were engaging in. Why is the front of your leg hurting? You probably pounded too much and it caused shinsplints? What are shinsplints? They are caused by small parts of tendon or muscle that have been torn or split from your shin. It usually happens when you overdo it when exercising, playing sports, or engaging in some physical activity. A shinsplints can hurt either in the front or side of the leg, right above the ankle. The only way to heal shinsplints is to stop or slow down on the activity. However, there are a few things you can do to quickly heal shinsplints.

The first thing you should do is to apply some homeopathy to fight off the pain and swelling. Take 30X potency of Arnica Montana four times each hour when you first get the pain and notice the swelling, this will help quickly heal shinsplints. Another form of homeopathy is to take 30X potency of Ruta graveolens to ease the pain and speed up the healing also. MSM is a supplement that helps heal muscle soreness and swelling. One gram a day of MSM should do the trick and help quickly heal shinsplints.

A great massage can go a long way in healing shinsplints. One of the massage techniques is from Traditional Chinese Medicine, which focuses on stimulating the Chi or energy in the body. Press firm, but gently, with your thumbs on both sides of your calf or along the shinbone, starting at the knee down toward the ankle. Do this massage several times on each leg, two or three times a day. If you are suffering shinsplints on both legs, alternate the technique for several minutes on each leg.

One last technique that can quickly heal shinsplints is to visualize doing whatever activity that caused the shinsplint. The reason why you should visualize doing the activity is to help keep the leg moving while you're injured. In other words, don't let the leg remain stagnant for the entire time it takes to heal. Doing the activity mentally will help you keep focus and help keep energy moving in the leg by forcing you to move the leg. This will help the leg heal much more quickly and stop or reduce the pain, and it will also keep your spirits up.
