How to Quickly Install an Extended Battery for Your Microsoft Zune MP3/MP4 Player

An Apple Ipod Alternative

SDR2010
I had heard a lot about the Microsoft Zune and its long battery so I figured it would last a lot longer than my short Ipod battery. So I decided to invest in this Zune player, but when I got it and charged it up, the battery lasted me a lot less than 15 hours. So I called Microsoft and I was told that it would improve the more I used it because the battery needed to be accustomed to being used. I used it for a month and I found that the results did not get any better so I filed a compliant with the company but it was too late to get a refund so I was stuck with the Zune and I decided to get a battery which would last longer. If you would like to know how I can explain this to use easily:

Get a battery on the Internet, they sell for around $20 and hold more charge than the original battery does but you should look for the best price you can. I got mine here
http://www.batteryship.com/htmlos/htmlos.cgi/batteryship/catalog.html?item=ZUNE
for just $15 with fast shipping but you will need to install it on your own.

Take off the plastic circles that are covering the screws on the top of the Zune player. Do this with a knife and remove the screws using a mini screw drive. You will need to turn the screws to the left until they become lose then use a knife to separate the plastic covering from the interior of the Zune and put it aside for later.

You will see your battery and a connection ribbon which you will need to lift up in order to disconnect the battery and then take the battery out. Once you left the ribbon up with your finder it will become disconnected.

You will need to install the new battery by placing it into the section formally held by the old battery and reattaching the circuit wire at the bottom. Then put the back plate into place by just placing it under the battery.

You will then close up put the plastic right back into place so that your Zune looks as if it was complete. Putting the back plate piece behind the battery and the front piece so that it covers the battery does this.

You should then push on the Zune so that it will fit together and at this point you can screw the two screws into the top of the Zune by using the mini screwdriver to tighten the screws until the screws are into place.

You will then need to put the plastic pieces back over the screws so that they are protected from becoming undone. All you need to do is screw each piece in by turning it to the right until it locks into place.

You can then restart your Zune and enjoy your new longer battery. It will now function just as your old battery did by exhibit a longer life.
