If you have a specific talent you just may be able to quit your day job and make your dream a reality. For example, are you good at typing, spelling and writing? You may look into options of working at home to become a freelance writer. There are many online jobs available just waiting to be picked up by you.
Maybe you know how to sew. You may have an exceptional eye for detail and colors that mesh well together. You could make homemade sweaters and sell them online. People love wearing custom clothing. If you love sewing and seeing your clothing come to life, this could be the stay at home job you are waiting for.
No matter what your talent is that you enjoy doing and there is a market for it, you could have a stay-at-home job. To get started you will need all of the tools before you quit your day job. You will most likely need a computer, fax machine/printer/copy machine, a phone, business cards and a website.
You will need to list all of your products and/or services onto your website. Show a photo, short description and price. Make sure that your website is user-friendly. You want potential customers to be able to easily navigate around your website. Make sure your website has an area that makes it simple for the customer to pay. If you do not follow this advice on your website, you will lose customers. Your customers will go to the next person that also specializes in what you do. If your competition's website is easy to navigate and pay-he or she will get your business.
Once your website is set you will need to heavily advertise. Either you write articles and submit them to websites that help with ranking your website high on Google and other search engines or hire a freelance writer to do so.
It may make you feel more secure if you quit your day job after you get a few orders so you know that folks will buy what you are selling. If you decide to keep your job until you know this, be prepared to be tired. You will be working hard to get your website organized and working on your products/services in addition to working full-time outside of the home.
You will not regret quitting your day job to do something you love. By doing something that you love and making money at it, it is as if you are not working at all.
