How You Can Really Save Some Money on Amazon
A Special Promotion that Lets Amazon Users Decide on Which Deal They Want
Christmas is right around the corner and everyone is shopping for deals. I recently received a great deal at Amazon.com. While shopping there I noticed on the homepage a section called "Amazon Customers Vote." This section allows Amazon users to vote each week on one of four deals that they would like to get. The week I voted was Thanksgiving week and the winner of the vote was an Xbox 360 for $100. If you play video games you know that the Xbox 360 core package retails for $299.00! That's a savings of $199.00! I was able to get that deal and needless to say, my brother who is now getting it for Christmas, was very happy.
Sounds great right? Well there is a catch. There is only a limited quantity of the item at the deal price. So only the determined and in most cases, lucky, will get the item at the discounted price. So here is how I did it. I signed up an account at Amazon early in the week. Doing this ahead of time is a must because you don't want to have to go through signup at the time the deal is released. Once I had my account in place with my username and password memorized and written down, I voted on the Xbox 360, which was the leading deal for that week and hoped it would when. Amazon will always announce the winner on Wednesday and the deal will become available on Thursday at 11:00 AM PST; that's 2:00 PM EST.
Amazon advises that are online a few minutes early. I surfed over to the homepage around 1:55 PM EST. I waited until 1:59 PM until I clicked the Amazon Customers Vote icon. At first it didn't work, so I hit the back button and tried again. No luck. I hit back once more then this time when I clicked, it was 2:00 PM, I got through. A button called "Get this deal" was there and I clicked it and the deal was mine around I answered a simple math question like "what is 21 plus 10?" I had until Friday to complete the order so there was no rush for me to buy. I had Thanksgiving dinner and let me tell you, it tasted better knowing I had just got the best deal of my life. No waiting in line outside Best Buy for five hours for a $50 savings. I just saved almost two hundred dollars!
So sign up, vote once, and arrive back at Amazon a few minutes early and start clicking around a minute early and use the back button or refresh if you can't get through. I've seen on a few message boards that people using the refresh button over and over had no luck so be careful about that option. Who knows, you may just the deal of a lifetime!
