How to Rebound

John Fullereton
The first steps you need to do on rebounding are jumping and boxing-out. These two are the most important things while rebounding in basketball. Here are some drills that could help you do that.
First get a basketball and throw it off the backboard and jump up and tip the ball back up while you are still in the air. When first doing this drill make sure that you start off at a low repitition and work your way up to more. I would recomend starting off around five then doing more after each day.
The next drill is a farely simple one first get a person and if no one can help get a chair and have them just throw the ball up or you just throw the ball up and try not to make it. Then once they(or you) shoot pivot with your left leg then your tight leg your back side is facing them. Finally push back to get your opponent far as a away from the basket as possible. Do this over and over to get better. Another drill that you can practice to work on your jumping is to jump rope all the time. This will help you a lot because it builds up stamina and how high you can jump. If you are looking to get a huge improvement on your verticle jump got into your basement or outside next to a wall and jump as high as you can then make a marker where your hand went when you jumped. Then every day do at least 20 repititions to get the best results.
